Syntheses, structures, and reactivities of terminal selenido complexes of tungsten
- Columbia Univ., New York, NY (United States)
The authors interest in metal-ligand multiple bonding has recently centered on complexes that exhibit terminal multiple bonds between the transition metals and the chalcogens, as exemplified by the complexes trans-W(PMe{sub 3}){sub 4}(E){sub 2} (E = S,{sup 2} Te{sup 3}) and Cp{dagger}{sub 2}M(E)(NC{sub 5}H{sub 5}) (Cp{dagger} = Cp* or Cp{sup Et}*; E = O, S, Se, Te; M = Zr, {sup 4}Hf{sup 5}){sup 6}. In this paper the authors report the syntheses, structures, and reactivities of some terminal selenido complexes of tungsten and comment upon both the similarities to and differences from their sulfido and tellurido analogues.
