The formation heat of Buckminsterfullerene. C{sub 60}, was determined by combustion of samples in a bomb calorimeter. Pure C{sub 60} gives the value {Delta}{sub c}U{sup o}{sub m}/M = -(32774.6 {plus_minus} 3.7) J/g. The standard enthalpy of formation for crystalline C{sub 60} is {Delta}{sub f}H{sup o}{sub m} = (2422 {plus_minus} 14) KJ/mol.
