Appliances which have an off switch may still {open_quotes}leak{close_quotes} electricity. Although the leakage is small, there are several reasons why the leaking electricity deserves attention: most homes have several and the dollars add up; energized appliances represent a fire and shock hazards; leaking electricity is more serious when draining batteries is a possibility in PV systems. This article describes what can be done to plug the leaks. 2 figs.
