Experimental stark widths and shifts of carbon CII 6578 {Angstrom} and CII 6583 {Angstrom} lines

Stark widths and shifts of singly ionized carbon CII 6578 {Angstrom} and CII 6583 {Angstrom} lines are measured under conditions of capillary pulsed discharge. The electron concentration and the plasma temperature are determined from the hydrogen H{sub {alpha}} linewidth (N{sub e} = 2.21 x 10{sup 17} cm{sup {minus}3}) and the intensity ratio of copper ion lines CuII 2545 {Angstrom} and CuII 2490 {Angstrom} (T = 22000 K), respectively. The parameters measured are compared with those calculated theoretically and with experimental data available in the literature. 18 refs., 2 figs., 1 tab.
