The C-D stretch of the monodeuterated propargyl radical was measured by transient absorption spectroscopy using difference frequency mixing in AgGaS{sub 2} to generate the infrared probe. The propargyl radical was created by the flash photolysis of a sample of d{sub 1}-propargyl bromide using the 193 nm ArF excimer laser. In contrast with the corresponding C-H stretch spectrum, the K structure is well resolved. An analysis of the rotational structure of this band will be described.
