Initial physical and mechanical properties have been measured for production quality pressed Gilsocarbon graphite (Ref. 95) of full block size (16 in diameter x 33 in high). Data is given for electrical resistivity, specific heat, thermal conductivity, coefficient of thermal expansion, flexural, tensile and compressive strength, Young’s Modulus and Poisson’s ratio, for temperatures of up to 1500 deg C in most cases and in some cases to 2800 deg C. Experimental methods are briefly described. (auth)
