Descriptive Cataloging Guide (Rev.2)
The purpose of this manual is: (1) To provide rules for the descriptive catalogers of the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission’s Division of Technical Information Extension. These rules enable the cataloger to follow consistently the bibliographic conventions and practices of the AEC’s abstracting and indexing services. (2) To disseminate information on the AEC’s bibliographic conventions and practices to users and potential users of the AEC’s printed and machine-readable information services. (3) To provide collaborating institutions with information for aid in formulating compatible descriptive cataloging practices.
