Rh{sub 2}(PMe{sub 3}){sub 2}(CO){sub 2}Cl{sub 2} (2) catalyzes the decarbonylation of aldehydes. Kinetic studies reveal that the limiting reaction step involves addition of the aldehyde to (2). Rate constants are reported for these reactions including studies of deuterium isotope effects. 22 refs., 4 figs.
