Dimensional and physical property changes of graphite specimens irradiated in Dragon fuel element 701. Dragon Project

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4486274
Fuel element 701 is the second of four elements in the First Metallurgical Series. It was removed from the Dragon core on 10th January, 1968 having received a maximum fast neutron dose of approx. 9.8 x 10 {sup 20} n cm{sup -2} (Ni-Dragon). Graphite specimens were irradiated in the spines of the other rods of this element covering a temperature range of 850 deg C to 1230 deg C. The changes in dimensions and physical properties of the graphite specimens were measured and correlated to irradiation temperature and fast neutron dose. (auth)
