Near electron cyclotron resonance the spatial electron distribution in the direction of the confining magnetic field of some minimum-B, low β, plasmas can be measured with a confocal microwave Fabry-Perot resonator aligned along the direction of the confining field. A broadband tunable, mocrowave vacuum window suitable for use with circularly polarized waves was designed, tested and built for the 18 to 26.5 Ghz range.
