Taylor-Couette flow between rotating cylinders is one of the most extensively studied problems of fluid mechanics and heat transfer. In this paper, turbulent microscales for Taylor-Couette flow are introduced. Existing torque relation and heat transfer correlations are reviewed in terms of these scales. No attempt is made here to determine the constant involved with torque and heat transfer correlations. Further experimental work, clearly relating this constant to dimensionless gap, is needed.
