The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a wealth of experience in the development and application of joining technologies. This expertise is spread through a variety of laboratories at NIST including the Polymers Division, the Metallurgy Division and the Ceramics Division. NIST has a number of technology transfer programs designed to assist the transfer of this NIST expertise to benefit private industry. These programs include: (1) informal consultation and advice; (2) Guest Researcher Agreements; (3) Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs); (4) Research Consortia; (5) Patent Licensing; (6) Manufacturing Extension Partnership Program; (7) Small Business Innovative Research Program (SBIR); and (8) Advanced Technology Program.
