Electron--nuclear double resonance of the protons of the stable radicals in $gamma$ irradiated single crystals of glycine (in Russian)
The method of electron-nuclear double resonance (ENDOR) was used in investigation of hyperfine interactions of protons in irradiated glycine. Some of the ENDOR lines were described by the hyperfine constants of the protons of the /sup +/NH/sub 3/-- CH-- COO/sup radical. Angular dependence of the ENDOR frequency of the other protons was investigated. The hyperfine constants of three protons (H/sub 4/, H/sub 5/, H/sub 6/) were determined. The ENDOR spectra of the single crystal irradiated at 77 deg K and subsequently warmed to room temperature and the ENDOR spectra of the single crystal irradiated at room temperature were the same. Three protons (H/sub 4/, H/sub 5/, H/sub 6/) belong to the stable radical appearing by the dec ay CH/sub 2/COO(H) radical. The observed triplet structure of ENDOR line seems to be due to magnetic dipole-- dipole interactions of nuclei and the second-order effects of the hyperfine interactions of these three protons. The observed dependence of ENDOR-line intensities on the directions of the radiofrequency field about the crystal axis was accounted for by a change of nucleus transition probability magnitudes.
