Consequences of critical flows occurring in a flashing facility and in a forced-convection- boiling loop are presented. A method is derived to determine if critical conditions are reached at the exit of a boiling test section in a forced- convection loop. The method has been tested on a boiling-sodium loop and critical flow rates data are presented. (auth)
