Use of mechanical alloying for preparation of Ti-55 at.%Al results in significant reduction in crystal size, so the ductility of alloy can be improved. Consolidation of mechanically alloyed {gamma}-TiAl is difficult because of its poor workability. The present paper will discuss recent studies on consolidation behavior by using hot isostatic pressing (HIP) on mechanically alloyed {gamma}-TiAl powder, including the process parameter selection, the microstructure and property evaluation, the comparison of HIP process with the combined process of HIP followed by extrusion and ROC (rapid omnidirectional compaction), etc.
