Translated from Prib. Tekh. Eksp.; 16: No. 3, 42-44(1973)For a BETA - spectrometer with a Si(Li)-detector and a superconducting solenoid the efficiency with which electrons are collected is calculated as a function of electron energy, field intensity, and the geometric parameters of the installation. It is shown that if the distance between the source and the detector is substantially greater than the maximum Larmor radius of the electrons in the magnetic field of the solenoid, then the efficiency of collection is equal to the ratio between the radius of the entry window and the diameter of the maximum Larmor orbit with good accuracy. The function describing the angular distribution of the electrons collected by the magnetic field on the detector is determined. (auth)
