A series of measurements of radiation doses received by the gonads of women undergoing hysterosalpingograpny was carried out using solid-state (LiF in powder form) dosimeters in an anatomical Rando phantom; the methods of investigation considered were those in common clinical use: fluoroscopy, radiography, TV-fluoroscopy, photofluorography, and cineradiography. The results obtained showed that, in consideration of the radiation doses received by the patients, TV-fluoroscopy is preferrable to routine fluoroscopy and that photofluorography gives informations as valuable as those obtained from multiple radiography; cineradiography, which entails very high doses to the patients, should be strictly limited to exceptional cases.
