The angular and momentum distributions of gamma -rays, produced in pp collisions at the CERN ISR at a center of mass energy of 44.4GeV, were measured using nuclear emulsions. This experiment covers an angular region 27 deg < THETA /sub cm/ < 88 deg which had not been covered in an earlier ISR experiment. Using the entire available gamma -ray data, the pi /sup o/ angular distribution were deduced. The average pi /sup o/ multiplicity is found to be = 10.6 plus or minus 1.4. (auth)
