Nitrogen enrichment due to meridional circulation in main sequence stars

Journal Article · · Mon. Notic. Roy. Astron. Soc., v. 164, no. 1, pp. 5P-9P
Paczynski (Acta Astr.; in press (1973)) has presented arguments in support of the idea that rotating main-sequence stars in the mass range 2 to 10 M/ sub sub solar / should show evidence for carbon depletion and nitrogen enrichment in their envelopes. An attempt to test this theory in terms of the relative CN-strength of Kgiant stars tends to support Paczynski's suggestion. (auth)
