Spins and mixing ratios in $sup 138$Ba

Journal Article · · Nucl. Phys., A, v. A212, no. 2, pp. 382-386
OSTI ID:4415459

The spin assignments to the 1899 (4/sup +/), 2308 (3/sup +/ or 4/sup +/) and 2446 (3/sup +/) keV levels in /sup 138/Ba were confirmed by gamma - gamma directional correlation measurements. In addition, the multipolarity and E2/M1 mixing parameters for a number of transitions were established as follows: 409 keV (M1 + E2, --0.75 < delta <--0.45 or +/ for the initial state), 463 keV (E2, 0 < delta < 0.15 for M3/E2 admixture), 547 keV (M1 + E2, --0.06 < delta < -- 0.0151, 872 keV (M1 + E2, delta undefined) and 1010 keV (M1 + E2, --0.015 < delta < +0.020).
