Features of calculations of the shell corrections to the nuclear masses with inclusion of pairing forces are considered in the Bogolyubov- Hartree -- Fock approximation. It is shown that a simple thermodynamical interpretation may be attributed to the calculation of the first-order shell correction. (auth)
