A study was carried out on the conditions of formation and of extraction of the diiodide of diantipyrylmethane and on its composition as a preparative method. Methods are proposed for the qualitative and quantitative determination of iodides in the presence of chlorides, bromides and thiocyanides. The method may also be used to extract iodine from acid solutions. (auth)
