Some problems concerning the thermalization of neutrons from pulsed sources in homogeneous nonbreeding media are considered in this survey: neutron thermalization and transfer equations, the analytical calculation of eigenfunctions and eigenvalues, methods for calculation of the upper limits of a discrete spectrum of eigenvalues for crystalline moderators, and fundamental regularities in neutron thermalization in finite and infinite moderator volumes.
