Calculation of certain basic parameters of the radioisotope gamma-relay (in Bulgarian)

In many cases the production process is controlled by means of radioisotope gamma-relays. Usually the following scheme is used: the radioactive source energizes a counter on whose output appear electrical pulses, which, after amplification, operate an erial between the source and the counter, the number of gamma-quantam reaching the counter is redueed and the electromagnetic relay comes to its initial state. Because of the statistical character of the gamma radiation the output signal would not be constant but would fluctuate about a mean value. To reduce these fluctuations, an integrating circuit is introduced. The time constant of this circuit is inversely proportional tc the amplitude of these fluctuations, i,e.; the smaller the fluctuations the greater the time constant. The fluctuations of the input signal could cause improper action of the electromagnetic relay. To prevent this, the number of the output pulses should be considerably greater than the fluctuation pulses. This is directly connected with the proper time constant of the circuit. A method is proposed to calculate the proper time constant in function of the radiated pulses, thus calculating the activity of the source. (INIS)
