Some consequences of the quark parton model in inclusive electroproduction

Journal Article · · Phys. Lett., B, v. 47B, no. 1, pp. 60-62
Consequences of the quark parton model proposed by Feymnan for inclusive electroproduction are studied. It is shown that the SLAC experiment gamma /sub v/ + p(n) yields h/sup plus or minus + anything which distinguishes the outcoming hadrons by their charges only gives the possibility to check sum rules with fractional quark quantum numbers, to determine the charge of the proton quark (neutron quark) and to measure the valence quark distribution functions directly. The multiplicity difference for the charged hadrons is predicted as the function of q/sup 2/, which agrees well with the experimental data published recently. (auth)
