The 5d/sup 7/6s/sup 2/ /sup 4/F /sub 9/2/atomiic ground state of /sup 191/Ir and /sup 193/Ir was studied using the atomic-beam magnetic-resonance method. The hfs splittings and the interaction constants A, B, and C were determined. Using the magnetic dipole moments known by NMR-technique are obtained for the electric quadrupole moments as calculated from the hyperfine interaction constants A and B: Q(/sup 191/Ir) = 0.78(20) barns, Q(/sup 193/Ir) = 0.70(18) barns (uncorrected for core polarization effects). A calculation of the hyperfine anomaly vields: /sub 193/ DELTA 193/ = -0.00023(10). (GE)
