Amplitude-dependent internal friction in superconducting and normal indium

A study was made of the influence of temperature on the amplitude-dependent absorption of ultrasound (7.5 MHz) in normal and superconducting In single crystals. Results can be explained by mechanical detachment of dislocations from their pinning centers.
