From digital equipment computer users society spring symposium; Boston, Massachusetts, USA (11 May 1972). See CONFA microprogrammed branch driver (MBD) has been developed for the Los Alamos Meson Physics Facility (LAMPF) experimental area data-acquisition systems. The unit is a multiple, direct memory access (DMA) channel branch driver. The work evolved from a cooperative venture between Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory (LASL) and Bonner Research Laboratories, Rice University, to develop a CAMAC branch driver for the PDP-11 computer. As the work progressed the designs took different directions. The basic specifications and operations of the Los Alamos MBD are discussed. (auth)
