Mutual inductance mcasurements of the superconductive transitions occurring in single-crystal and polycrystalline cadmium samples in magnetic fields of 0--10/sup -4/T (0--1 G) are presented. The temperature at which the zero-field superconductive transition midpoints occur appears to be constant within plus or minus O.2 mK for transitions narrower than 2 mK, but T/sub c/ increases for broader transitions. The transitions exhibited both narrowing and hysteresis, the latter perhaps due tc supercooling, 5n fields of a few tenths of a gauss. T/sub c/ has been measured as 0.515 plus or minus 0.002/sub 5/ K on the T/sub 62/ temperat ure scale. (auth)
