Review of determinations of radiation dose to the active bone marrow from diagnostic x-ray examinations

Steps required for determination of the mean active bone marrow dose from diagnostic x rays and the procedures emPloyed by investigators in making such determainations are reviewed. In addition, a comparison is made of the results thus far obtained from all available studies. The purpose of this review of the literature is to provide background for planning additional determinations of active bone marrow doses. (55 references) (auth)
