The design criteria and the methods of calculation adopted in the design of the radiation shield of the Thermal Research Reactor, Trombay, India (TRR) are described. The main components of the shield such as the top and radial shield of the reactor, the heat exchanger shield, the fuelling machine shield, etc. are described.
