Chemical effluents technology waste disposal investigations, January, February, March 1960

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4380900
Data are reported on the total alpha activity, gross BETA activity, and contert of /sup 106/Ru, /sup 137/Co, /sup 144/Ce, /sup 147/Pm, /sup 90/Sr, / sup 125/Sb, /sup 95/Zr, /sup 95/Nb, /sup 60/Co and /sup 127/Te in samples of ground water collected from test wells at Hanford during January, February, and March 1960. Essentially all the BETA activity was due to the presence of /sup 106/Ru and its daughter /sup 106/Rh. Methods for leak testing around underground waste storage tanks and for testing panticle deposition in sampling lines were evaluated. A new contour map of ground water of the Hanford plant area was constructed from data obtained from a representative pattern of wells. (CH)
