Instability of an unneutralized relativistic electron beam

Expermental observations of the propagation of an intense, unneutralized, annular, relativistic electron beam along a homogeneous magnetic guide field show that it is unstable. The instability is accompanied by a loss of beam particles and intense microwave emission. (auth)
