New x-ray regulation. March 1, 1973 regulation on protection against radiation injuries (in German)

The First Radiation Protection Regulation for West Germany related only to radioactive material. The present Regulation, relating to x rays, was passed in December 1972; after a transition period of six months, it will become effective on September 1, 1973. Listed and discussed are the most important sections of the regulation that concern licensing of x-ray installations, professional expertise of operators, operation of installations for therapy, controlled and monitored areas, licensure to administer x radiation to patients, and the keeping of appropriate records. Also presented are professional radiation exposures with maximal doses, personnel dosimetry, and radiation hazards as well as protective measures. (HBG)
