The theory of the resonant absorption of sound by gas bubbles in id is summarized, and applied to the detection of boiling noise in the sodium cooled fast reactor. It is shown that in the frequency range 50 to 500 kHz the attenuation of boiling noise due to gas bubbles could be very high. (auth)
