A vessel is described for use in the vaporization of liquid metals. It is composed of a substantial percentage of boron nitride, together with a compatible refractory material such as titanium diboride or zirconium diboride, and is coated with a Zr - Si base alloy, readily wetted by molten metals. The coating increases the evaporation rate, thus assisting in metallization processes involving vapor deposition. (UK)
