About the applicability of the eikonal approximation to single charged pion photoproduction at high energies

Generalized ladder diagrams of a field theoretical model for single charged pion photo-production are investigated at high energies. It is shown that the propagator approximation, a key approximation for the eikonalization, does not preserve the high-energy limit of the sum over the generalized ladder graphs. Finally, this result is in contrast to that found recently in the case of pure hadronic elastic 2-2 scattering amplitudes.
