Rotational-single particle states of odd--odd nuclei having a small nonaxiality and j/sub p/ = j/sub n/ = 1/2 (in Russian)
In the theoretical study of the properties of odd- odd nuclei it is essential to separate the excitations into collective and single-particle excitations, and with odd-- odd nuclei it is necessary to take into account the interaction of collective and singleparticle cxcitations, and of the odd proton with the odd neutron. The system model consists of an ellipsoid of revolution and two external nucleons (the odd proton and the odd neutron). The momenta of the external nuclei is conserved, and surface oscillations of thc nucleus arc ignored. The energy of the rotationalsingle particle states is found to depend on two parameters lambda and a, where a is the degree of nonaxiality and lambda is an interaction constant which is assumed to be the same for the neutron and the proton. A theoretical level scheme is compared with the experimental level scheme for terbium-170. (SJR)
