Confinement of particles and energy in tokamak plasmas

Book ·
OSTI ID:4375173
From 3rd international symposium on toroidal plasma confinement; Garching, Germany (26 Mar 1973). Improvements in the Ohmic heating power supply and in the coils providing the vertical field have permitted increasing the current in the ST Tokamak to about 120 kA for 40 to 50 msec. The discharge characteristics, particle confinement time, average electron temperature, total electron energy and ion temperature were determined by laser scattering or charge- exchanged H energy distribution. The electron density and temperature profile were determined by laser scattering at 20 and 40 msec. (GE)
