From national topical meeting on mathematical models and computational techniques for analysis of nuclear systems; Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA (8 Apr 1973). In mathematical models and computational techniques for analysis of nuclear systems. Fuel management analysis involves all of the major problems of reactor physics coupled with multistage decisions that include the important technological, safety, and economic constraints on reactor design and operation. The methods used in fuel management analysis are reviewed with emphasis on reactor physics mathematical methods and problems. Several techniques for direct solution to obtain optimal fuel and absorber management are reviewed. 46 references. (auth)
