Equations using an extended Debye-Hueckel term and Margules expansion carried out to the four suffix level are developed for the excess Gibbs energy and solvent and solute activity coefficients for multicomponent, miscible, ionic solutions. Empirical parameters are determined from solutions or molten salt mixtures with three ions or less. In this experiment, the aqueous system contains H{sup +}, Na{sup +}, Cl{sup -}, and NO{sub 3}{sup -}. 17 refs., 3 figs., 5 tabs.
