A grapple of a lifting apparatus consists of several clamps situated in a grapple box and capable of being moved one toward the other radially, operated by a common command apparatus; this grapple of the lifting apparatus is studied especially for the transport of nuclear reactor fuel elements, characterized by the fact that these clamps are preferably of the form of one arm pivoting on two arms.
