Steady-state approach to kinetics of radical polymerization of vinyl chloride: a reinterpretation

Journal Article · · J. Polymer Sci., Polym. Chem. Ed., v. 11, no. 7, pp. 1757-1758

Previously reported studies on the kinetics of the radioinduced polymerization of vinyl chloride have been reexamined. It is pointed out that the reaction scheme on which the steady-state approach was based has certain limitations which cannot be resolved when applied to the radioinduced bulk polymerization of prepolymerized polymer --monomer mixtures, in which the polymer particle size shows a marked effect.
