Equipment for studying soils (in French)
Equipment for studying soils is presented. It consists of a radiation source, a device for detecting radiation after its absorption or scattering by the soil under investigation, and a probe containing the source and detector. Means are provided for displacing the probe (in particular inside a well) and for measuring and determining the intensity of the radiation detected at various positions of the probe, or, that of a parameter dependent on the intensity. In addition, the equipment is provided with means for recording the results furnished by the measurement part and the parameters associated with each measurement together with means for automatically controlling a cycle, or, a series of cycles of successive measurement-recording operations, each, at least possessing a cortrol over the displacement part (this part displacing the probe through a predetermined distance), and a control over the measurement and recording parts.
