The age for fission neutrons was determined for six mixtures of D2O and H2O by measuring the neutron slowing-down distributions at 1.4 ev. Similar measurements were made in a lattice of aluminum rods in D2O. In this case, the slowing-down distributions in the directions parallel and perpendicular to the rods were different, so that the age-was anisotropic.
