X-ray structural study of the electronic structure of the Laves phase of NbCr$sub 2$ and NbCo$sub 2$ (in Russian)
The x-ray emission L and M spectra of Nb and the K and L spectra of Cr and Co from the Laves phase of NbCr/sub 2/ and NbCo/sub 2/ with lattice of the MgCu/sub 2/ type were studied. Parameters of the emission band were obtained: relative integral and peak intensities, widths, and mixing. Results were qualitatively fit into the framework of the model of binary alloys or compounds. It was concluded that the formation of the NbCr/sub 2/and NbCo/sub 2/ phase leads to a substantial change of the energy distribution of the occupied states of the p and d symmetries in the vicinity of the atoms of Nb, Cr, and Co in comparison with that of the pure metals, but the character of the interatomic bonds is practically the same as in original pure metals.
