Current--current commutators, slices of the light cone, and the value of the sigma term

Once-Integrated commutators of current components are studied. The from a slice'' of the light cone, in contrast to the case when the nly the vertex of the cone. Sum rules are obtained whose main property is that only a finite act of intermediate states contribute. These sum rules resemble finite-energy sum rules. An application to chiral-symmetry breaking is given. The value C = -1.O5 is obtained. Finally an estimation of the sigma term is made. Its value ranges from 50 MeV to l27 MeV. (auth)
