Nuclear data sheets for A = 174
- University of California, Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, Los Alamos, New Mexico 87544, Mexico
The 1965 version of the Nuclear Data Sheets for A = 174 was revised on the basis of experimental data received prior to May 1, 1972. Nine nuclei are known for A = 174. Only the alpha decays and half-lives are known for /sup 174/Os, /sup 174/Ir, and /sup 174/Pt. decay schemes for /sup 174/W, /sup 174/Lu, and 142-d /sup 174m/Lu and levels in /sup 174/Yb, /sup 174/Lu, /sup 174/Hf, and /sup 174/W from reaction studies are presented. The ( epsilon /sup +/ BETA /sup +/) decay of /sup 174/Ta is not well known, presumably be cause of competition from decays of /sup 175/Ta and /sup 176/Ta. A number of states in /sup 174/Hf from this decay, however, are consistent with levels established in reaction studies. Study of isotope-separated /sup 174/Ta activity would probably remove the uncertainties in the present data. (auth)
