The parabolic and sphericai quantum numbers, characterizing the states of the hydrogen atom, were compared. The dependence of the displacement of the violet components of the H gamma line of the Balmer series on the intensity of the electric field was shown. The results of the comparison of the energy level values in strong fields, obtained by the Bubnov-Galerkin method and the Wentzel- Kramers-Brillouin method, were shown. It is shown how the radial charge distribution in the hydrogen atom varies in an electric field. (JSR)
