In recognition of the significant advances being made in the field of nuclear power-plant control and instrumentation, the International Atomic Energy Agency organized a series of biannual symposiums on the subject. These meetings provided specialists from the member states with an opportunity for a comprehensive exchange of information on the current international status of this important field. The discourse from the first meeting (Vienna, 1969) is summarized, the proceedings from the second meeting ( Vienna, 1971) are reviewed, and some of the presentations made at the third meeting (Prague, 1973) are discussed.
